日進市で、主に日進西中学校の生徒を中心に、生徒みずから主体性を持って学び、自分のペースで勉強できる、ICTを活用した自立学習による学びの場を提供している、セルモ日進西小学校前教室　塾長の西尾です。

I’m Nishio, the head of the Selmo Nisshin Nishi Elementary School Classroom, located in Nisshin City. Our focus is on providing a learning space primarily for students from Nisshin Nishi Junior High School, where they can take initiative in their studies, learn at their own pace, and utilize ICT for independent learning.

Thursday is English conversation day　~ We talked about Japanese anime and games ~

一昨年11月から毎週木曜日に日進ベタニヤ教会で行われている英会話教室に通っています。
I’ve been attending an English conversation class held every Thursday at Nisshin Bethany Church since November the year before last.

今日の英会話はゲームの話や日本のアニメのお話でしたね。
In today’s English conversation class, we talked about games and Japanese anime.

私がゲーム好きなので、TVゲームの歴史についてついつい語ってしまいました。
Since I’m a big fan of video games, I ended up going on and on about the history of console gaming.

任天堂のファミコン、スーファミ、そしてセガのメガドライブやソニーのPS1など。
The Nintendo Famicom, Super Famicom, Sega’s Mega Drive, and Sony’s PlayStation 1, to name a few.

そして、セガがハードから撤退し、マイクロソフトがXBOXでゲーム業界に参入して・・・
And then Sega withdrew from the hardware market, and Microsoft entered the gaming industry with the Xbox…

メンバーの一人も、「パラッパラッパー」というリズムゲーを昔遊んだことがあるよって。
One of the members also mentioned that they used to play a rhythm game called PaRappa the Rapper back in the day.

サナ先生は、このパラッパラッパーを知らなかったので、Youtubeで動画を見つけて、大笑いしていましたね！
Sanna didn’t know about PaRappa the Rapper, so she looked it up on YouTube and couldn’t stop laughing!

その後、話題は、ジブリパークに行ってきたお話になり、ジブリアニメについての話題へ
After that, the conversation turned to one of the members visit to Ghibli Park, and from there, we started talking about Ghibli anime.

サナ先生も、ジブリパークは大好きで、特に魔女の宅急便のキキの家は故郷のスウェーデンのおばあちゃんの部屋にそっくりなんだそうです。
Sanna also loves Ghibli Park, and she said that Kiki’s house from Kiki’s Delivery Service looks just like her grandmother’s room in Sweden.

サナ先生の好きなジブリ映画は「千と千尋の神隠し」とのこと。
Sanna’s favorite Ghibli movie is Spirited Away.

外国の方には難解な八百万の神がいる世界観ですが、彼女は100％理解できたそうですよ。
The world of Spirited Away, with its concept of “yaoyorozu no kami” — the eight million gods — can be quite complex for people from other countries, but she said she was able to understand it 100%.
