日進市で、主に日進西中学校の生徒を中心に、生徒みずから主体性を持って学び、自分のペースで勉強できる、ICTを活用した自立学習による学びの場を提供している、セルモ日進西小学校前教室　塾長の西尾です。

I’m Nishio, the head of the Selmo Nisshin Nishi Elementary School Classroom, located in Nisshin City. Our focus is on providing a learning space primarily for students from Nisshin Nishi Junior High School, where they can take initiative in their studies, learn at their own pace, and utilize ICT for independent learning.

 

毎週木曜は、英会話教室に通っています。

木曜は英会話の日！　～自己紹介のあと素敵なピアノが聴けました～
Thursday is English conversation day　~ After the self-introductions, we got to hear a wonderful piano performance ~

一昨年11月から毎週木曜日に日進ベタニヤ教会で行われている英会話教室に通っています。
I’ve been attending an English conversation class held every Thursday at Nisshin Bethany Church since November the year before last.

 

今日の英会話は新しいメンバーが増えたので自己紹介タイムでした。
Today’s English conversation class, we had a self-introduction session since we welcomed a new member.

 

以前からのメンバーの知らなかった一面もしれて楽しかったですね。
It was enjoyable to learn about new aspects of long-time members as well!

 

自分も最初は塾の学びのコンセプトについて紹介しましたが、
I also started by introducing the learning concept of the learning space that I run, but…

 

サナ先生にそれ以前は何をしていたの？と聞かれたので、
Sanna asked me, “What were you doing before that?” so…

 

もともとは、IT業界の営業マンだったこと、そして日立社内の学校での学びや、トップ15人に入ったので東大で1年研究できたお話などもさせていただきました。

I shared that I originally worked as a salesperson in the IT industry, and I also talked about my learning experience at Hitachi’s internal school, as well as how I was among the top 15, which allowed me to conduct research at the University of Tokyo for a year.

 

レッスン終了後、教会から素敵なピアノが聴こえてきたのでご挨拶に行ったところ、海外のピアニストの方が日本についたばかりで、指鳴らしをしていたところでした。
After the lesson, I heard beautiful piano music coming from the church, so I went to say hello. It turned out that an overseas pianist had just arrived in Japan and was warming up their fingers.

ご挨拶させていただいたら、数曲素敵なピアノを聴かせていただきました！
When we greeted him, he played a few beautiful piano pieces for us!

聴かせていただいたのは以下の4曲。

サン=サーンスの白鳥
リスト：愛の夢第3番
ベートーヴェン「悲愴」第3楽章
ベートーヴェン「悲愴」第1楽章

特に準備したものではなく、リクエストにもサクっと答えてくれて嬉しかったですね。

The pieces I had the pleasure of listening to were the following four:

• Saint-Saëns – The Swan
  Liszt – Liebesträume No. 3
  Beethoven – Pathétique Sonata, 3rd Movement
  Beethoven – Pathétique Sonata, 1st Movement

They hadn’t prepared anything in particular, yet they effortlessly responded to requests, which made me really happy!

 

4月12日（土）には、ピアニスト（Siegfried tepper）のコンサートがベタニア教会で行われます。
