I’m Nishio, the head of the Selmo Nisshin Nishi Elementary School Classroom, located in Nisshin City. Our focus is on providing a learning space primarily for students from Nisshin Nishi Junior High School, where they can take initiative in their studies, learn at their own pace, and utilize ICT for independent learning.

Thursday is English conversation day　~ How to Use Modern Multifunctional TVs ~

一昨年11月から毎週木曜日に日進ベタニヤ教会で行われている英会話教室に通っています。
I’ve been attending an English conversation class held every Thursday at Nisshin Bethany Church since November the year before last.

 

今日の英会話はクラスメイトのお宅にお邪魔してのレッスンでした。
Today’s English conversation lesson was held at a classmate’s home.

 

掘りごたつに入っての英会話レッスンはとってもゆったりと楽しく行えましたね。
Having our English conversation lesson while sitting in a horigotatsu made it a very relaxing and enjoyable experience!

 

最近のTVの上手な使い方を教えて欲しいというリクエストがあったので、説明しようとしましたが、なかなか難しいですね。
I received a request to explain how to make good use of modern TVs, so I tried to explain it, but it was quite difficult.

 

最近のＴＶは、ボタン一つでアプリを呼び出すことができ、Youtubeや、Netflixなども簡単に見れます。
Modern TVs allow you to launch apps with just one button, making it easy to watch YouTube, Netflix, and more.

 

ただ、それらのアプリがどんなもので、何が見れるか、有料か無料かなど、高齢の方にはわからないことばかりですからね。
However, for elderly people, it can be difficult to understand what these apps are, what content they offer, and whether they are free or require a subscription.

 

字幕の機能一つとっても、Youtubeでの字幕と、TVでの字幕の出方が違うし、出し方の操作も全く違うものになります。
Even just the subtitle function differs—YouTube subtitles appear differently from TV subtitles, and the way to enable them is completely different as well.

 

結局後日ゆっくり説明に伺う事にしました。
In the end, I decided to visit later and explain everything more thoroughly.
